Background and Education:

Andrew James is an experienced healthcare leader who is also an RN and possess 17+ years of clinical ICU, quality and care coordination experiences. Andrew is the Executive Director of Operational Improvements and Transformation at Santa Clara Valley Hospital and Health Services in San Jose, CA where he leads operational improvement and strategic imperatives and transformational initiatives under the Medi-Cal Waiver programs.

Previously he has held leadership positions at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, CA where he led the Informatics and Analytics Department, and at NorthBay Healthcare System in Fairfield, CA where he led the Business Intelligence (BI) & Analytics department. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Francisco State University, a Master of Science in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University, and an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration from Brown University. He also holds the prestigious Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification from the Brown University National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and a Lean Six Sigma Black belt certification from Villanova University.

Andrew has been part of the executive leadership team at the County of Santa Clara Health and Hospital systems since Oct. 2017.
