Current Position: Assistant Administrator – Alta Bates Summit Medical Center

Background and Education:

Matt currently serves as the Assistant Administrator (COO) of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center (Sutter Health) in Oakland, California. Prior to this role, Matt spent 9 years serving in various leadership roles across the care continuum at Sutter Health. Matt holds a BS in Business Management from Humboldt State University, an MBA from the University of Nevada, Reno, an MHA from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, and he is currently working on his Doctor of Healthcare Administration from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Matt has earned his Lean Six Sigma Green and Black belts and he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Matt currently lives in Solano County with his wife and 3 young children.

Philosophy: My philosophy is that investing time, knowledge, and experience into others is intrinsically and extrinsically rewarding. Mentorship is critically important to the growth and development of leaders. Very few people achieve their career aspirations alone and the relationships forged through mentorship can be incredibly powerful.
