Background and Education: Originally from Detroit, MI. Doctorate in Health Administration (DHA) with a Specialization in Health Care Leadership from Capella University; Masters of Public Administration (MPA) in Health Care Management and Policy from Rutgers University. Board Certified Health Care Fellow (FACHE) from American College of Health Care Executives. Navy Veteran with 8 years of service in Supply and Logistics. Thirty (30)+ years of experience in health care administration. Currently has oversight of the pediatric residency program as well as hospital credentialing and privileging for the entire Stanford Medicine Enterprise in Stanford, CA. Philosophy: My philosophy is to help others realized that “You have control of your own destiny”. Obstacles may seem difficult to overcome, but anything is possible if you work hard and commit to sacrifice. I started my health care career as a secretary in the pharmacy department more than 30 years ago. Taking the non-traditional path to education, I went to school part-time for 16 years to obtain an Associates Degree, a Bachelors Degree, then a Master’s Degree to help advance my career in health care administration. Many obstacles presented themselves, but with focus, commitment and sacrifice a successful career was the result.
