Bridget Burke is the newest member of the CAHL Finance Committee and vice president of technology company PatientPredict. She served with NCAL HIMSS and brings a wealth of experience to CAHL.
Please tell us a bit about what you’ve been doing as a volunteer, and why you chose to take that particular role.
“I joined CAHL because of the excellent professional education and networking opportunities. I selected the Finance Committee so that I could contribute my expertise in finance and technology. I was excited to bring experience from my previous roles such as Chief Technology Officer at Interlogix; Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Security Officer at HID Global; Director at Harvard University; Director at Columbia University; Co-Founder at Gryphon Software Corp.; former President of HIMSS Northern California. Participating on the CAHL Finance Committee allowed me to meet talented people and impressive leaders, including Jennifer Paoli and Abraham Cicchetti. I have been consistently impressed by the tremendous platform that the CAHL organization offers and look forward to supporting our exciting new initiatives in the New Year 2023!”
Could you share a “CAHL Moment” with us?
“In October 2022, I attended the first in-person North Coast Networking event at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital. We were welcomed by Kelly Flannery, President of CAHL, and Laura Palmer, Volunteer Recognition & Member Outreach Committee. Our host, Dan Peterson, CEO of Sutter Health Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, shared with us the story of the groundbreaking of their new 58,000-square-foot hospital expansion. The expansion began just as COVID hit and he and his team successfully overcame incredible obstacles and opened their new facility on schedule in June 2022. His uplifting story of persistence and innovation became the subject of a lively networking session. Many of the participants exchanged interesting ideas and engaged in productive conversations about his presentation with insightful takeaways that they could utilize in their respective organizations. It reinforced for all of us the importance of sharing our journeys, particularly when it comes to overcoming obstacles and forging new paths, in order to learn from each other’s strengths.”
