Committee Updates: What’s Going On Behind the Scenes?

Sep 10, 2022 | Committee Updates

CAHL’s committees represent a growing network of healthcare professionals serving in volunteer roles to provide engaging learning and networking opportunities for our members. Here’s what some of them are up to this month. Those interested in getting involved can do so via the volunteer form here.

Volunteer Recognition & Member Outreach
VRMO is looking to expand opportunities for our membership to grow through partnerships and collaboration with professional organizations. We’ve partnered with Biocom California to provide a glimpse into Medtech, Biotech, and Tech are shaping the future of healthcare. CAHL members can attend the upcoming Biocom event at no cost (see “Upcoming Events” in the September newsletter). – Sarah Khan

JEDI
The CAHL Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Committee has been actively hosting events to promote the awareness of JEDI values, sharing best practices with CAHL members via an ACHE F2F educational event in June, monthly JEDI networking events with a JEDI-specific topic, and publishing the D&I Toolkit for all CAHL members to access. To ingrain JEDI values in every CAHL committee, JEDI committee members liaise with each CAHL committee to collaborate on projects. Additionally, as part of the CAHL JEDI Committee’s strategic plan, committee members are working to develop quarterly Jedi content for the CAHL newsletter. Furthermore, the JEDI committee is working to identify local healthcare organizations to collaborate on JEDI projects. – Aemal Aminy and Sonya Young

Senior Executive Engagement
The Senior Executive Engagement committee is excited to offer its inaugural networking event on October 19th.  This event will be provided to CAHL senior executives by invitation only. It will offer an opportunity for this cohort to meet and connect to strengthen their involvement with CAHL further. – Rachael McKinney

CAHL Sponsorship Committee
In September, we look forward to obtaining sponsor feedback on the 2022 CAHL Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony for any lessons learned and suggestions to strengthen our partnership and add more value to the sponsor organizations. We are looking to continue working with the CAHL Board on soliciting more sponsors (we already exceeded our goal for this year but still trying to get more). We are actively working on obtaining data from ACHE/CAHL to develop a CAHL Sponsorship Packet for potential sponsors to have more awareness of our organization and the impact that CAHL makes. – Thu Nguyen

Higher Ed
The CAHL Higher Education Committee is currently working on hosting CAHL School Visits through both an in-person format and a virtual format. Volunteers are needed as panelists; the student population includes undergraduate and graduate healthcare administration students. The CAHL Scholarship cycle is also opening, and there will be two scholarships awarded: one for a healthcare administration graduate student and one for a healthcare administration undergraduate student. – Jackeline Rosas
