Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great excitement and gratitude that I write to you for the first time as your ACHE Regent for Northern and Central California. I officially took office at ACHE Congress in March, which was held this year in Houston, Texas. The event brought together over 7,100 healthcare leaders—energized, focused, and committed to growing both personally and professionally. It was a truly inspiring gathering, reinforcing the power of our community.
I also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Phil Chuang, PhD, FACHE, who served as our Regent with exceptional dedication for the past three years. Phil’s steady leadership, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment have made a lasting impact on our region. He has been a mentor to many, including me, and his legacy of service continues to inspire.
For those I haven’t yet had the pleasure to meet, I have had the honor of serving on the California Association of Healthcare Leaders (CAHL) board for seven years, most recently as chapter president. Supporting CAHL has been a highlight of my career, and I’m thrilled to continue this journey as your Regent.

CAHL Updates
If you want to deepen your engagement and help shape the future of healthcare leadership in our region, consider volunteering with CAHL. The chapter thrives because of passionate members like you. Whether you are an experienced executive or just beginning your leadership journey, there is a place for you. You can fill out the Volunteer Commitment Form here.
Also, please save the date for Aug. 21, 2025, when CAHL will host its Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Concord, California. This special event will be a night of celebration featuring great networking opportunities and recognition of outstanding leaders in our community. Keep an eye out for registration announcements and visit CAHL or follow the California Association of Healthcare Leaders on LinkedIn for updates.
Continuing Our Leadership Journey
As President John F. Kennedy wisely said, “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” I hope you’ll continue to invest in your growth and support others in their journeys.
Additionally, I want to remind you of the ACHE Board of Governors Exam Fee Waiver Campaign. Members who submit a Fellow application between March 1 and June 30 are eligible for a one-time waiver of the Board of Governors Exam fee—a $225 value—pending approval. This is a wonderful opportunity to take the next step in your ACHE career.
Warm regards,
Nikhil Singal, FACHE
