Immediate Past President, California Association of Healthcare Leaders
As we reflect on 2025, I am incredibly proud of the collective accomplishments of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders and deeply grateful to the members, volunteers, sponsors, academic partners, and board leaders who made last year one of extraordinary growth and impact.
Growth and Outreach
In 2025, CAHL reached 1,971 members, positioning our chapter as the third largest in ACHE nationwide. This represents an impressive 11.4% increase over the prior year and reflects the strength of our outreach efforts and the value our members see in belonging to a vibrant professional community. This milestone has created strong momentum as we continue expanding our presence throughout California and pursue our goal of becoming ACHE’s largest chapter in 2026.
Program Expansion and Second Annual CAHL Congress
Delivering high-quality professional development remained a top priority. In 2025, CAHL provided 80.5 hours of programming and significantly expanded in-person offerings across our broad geographic footprint to better serve members statewide. We also grew our second annual CAHL Congress to more than 300 attendees, creating an energizing forum for learning, collaboration, and leadership connection. These achievements lay a powerful foundation for continued program growth and deeper member engagement in the coming year.
Chapter Recognition and Awards
CAHL’s impact was recognized across District 5 through the Regent-at-Large Award for Chapter Accomplishments in Engagement, honoring our demonstrated commitment to strengthening ACHE’s professional community. In addition, CAHL received the ACHE Merit Award for Chapter Net Membership Growth for the second consecutive year. In 2026, we aim to build on this momentum by meeting two performance standards: net growth and member satisfaction.
Financial Strength and Sponsorship Growth
Our chapter’s financial health was strengthened through exceptional sponsor engagement, generating more than $120,000 in support. We welcomed several new sponsors representing a diverse range of healthcare sectors, expanding partnerships that enhance our programming and reinforce CAHL’s role as a connector across the healthcare ecosystem. In 2026, we will continue deepening our sponsor relationships while further diversifying our reach.
Professional Development and Advancement
Supporting the next generation and advancing our members remained central to our mission. CAHL hosted its second Case Competition, engaging students from five universities. Eleven outstanding teams from Cal State East Bay, Chico State, Jessup University, Sacramento State, and UC Berkeley demonstrated exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills. Students also participated in an in-person career workshop with senior healthcare leaders, gaining valuable mentorship and career insight.
Our Mentorship Program expanded to serve more than 100 mentees in 2025, reinforcing our commitment to leadership development. To support members pursuing Fellow advancement, CAHL hosted two Board of Governors preparation sessions, resulting in 33 members successfully advancing last year. These milestones reflect the strength of our professional pipeline and the dedication of those who give their time to support others.
In Summary
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to CAHL’s success in 2025. Your leadership, engagement, and commitment to professional excellence continue to elevate our chapter and the broader healthcare community we serve. We are confident that the foundation built this year will propel CAHL to even greater impact in 2026 and beyond.
