Tell us a bit about what you’ve been doing as a volunteer, and why you chose this particular role.
I currently serve on both the Membership & Volunteer Growth Committee and the Career Advancement Committee. I chose these roles because of my authentic passion to serve others—whether they are just beginning their careers or are seasoned professionals pursuing their next chapter. Having once been an early-career healthcare professional myself, and now a more seasoned executive leader, I understand the importance of community, development, and direction at every stage of one’s journey. Being part of these Committees are especially meaningful to me, as it was a CAHL member who first encouraged me to get involved just over a year ago. That support came full circle when I had the opportunity to step into leadership and extend that same encouragement to others.
What’s been the most surprising or rewarding part of your involvement with CAHL?
One of my most memorable CAHL moments was leading one of our leadership networking sessions last year. During that session, a fellow member shared that they had not been active for over two years and had previously felt disconnected from the organization. However, after attending the session, they felt reenergized and motivated to reengage—and they even participated in our first CAHL Congress later that year. That moment reminded me why these committee’s matter: sometimes all it takes is one meaningful conversation to reignite someone’s sense of purpose and belonging. It reaffirmed my commitment to creating spaces where healthcare professionals feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
Could you fill in this blank? “I’m open to being a resource to CAHL members if they need:
Support navigating the clinical revenue cycle, insights on AI in healthcare for population health or physician-facing technology that enhances documentation excellence and quality of care, or encouragement during a career transition.
Who or what has been your biggest inspiration as a leader?
Leadership to me is service in action. It’s about showing up with consistency, lifting others as you climb, and creating environments where people can see what’s possible for themselves. I’m grateful to CAHL for offering the kind of platform where that kind of leadership thrives.
What motto or quote resonates with you as a leader?
“Your legacy is every life you touch.” – Maya Angelou
