2025 Spring CAHL Mentor Program Recap

Jul 14, 2025 | Articles, Mentorship

The California Association of Healthcare Leaders (CAHL) just completed yet another successful round of our Spring Formal Mentorship Program. Spanning 3 months, from February 18th to June 6, 2025, our cohort of mentees were able to deeply engage with their mentors and receive unique insight from experienced leaders committed to guiding the next generation of healthcare executives.

CAHL’s mentorship program embodies the belief that great leaders are not born – they are guided, shaped, and mentored. This unique experience provides an opportunity for emerging healthcare leaders, at any stage of their career, to cultivate and strengthen their leadership skills, build upon their understanding of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, and gain valuable insight on interview techniques. Mentees are given guidance on how to initiate crucial conversations and are provided feedback frameworks to ensure continuous growth. Many have attested that this program proved to be a game-changing step in their professional development, providing the tools needed to finally breakthrough to new leadership roles within the industry.

Tina Ogundiumu, a mentee from Spring’s 2025 cohort offers her testimony:

“Working with my mentor, Teresa Tillman, during the Spring 2025 cohort was a transformative experience. She guided me through job search strategies, encouraged active networking through CAHL, and helped refine my interview and salary negotiation skills. Teresa’s thoughtful feedback strengthened my LinkedIn profile, boosted my confidence in engaging with leadership, and inspired me to shadow professionals, volunteer, and pursue writing opportunities to showcase my MHA background. Her mentorship gave me the tools, support, and clarity I needed to navigate my career path with confidence and purpose.”

Spring’s 2025 cohort boasted mentors composed of varying careers and titles ranging from directors, VP’s, administrator’s, consultants, and chief officers all from a diverse range of specialties and many hailing from leading health systems such as Adventist Health, Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente, Stanford Health Care, UCSF, and many more.

We invite healthcare professionals who are current CAHL members and have a passion for mentoring future leaders to help us expand this impactful program. For more information on how to get involved, please visit our website: CAHL Mentorship Program.
